01Jagatsinghpur at a glance
Rooftop and commercial solar for Jagatsinghpur, Paradip and the delta
Jagatsinghpur is Odisha’s smallest district, a deltaic strip on the Bay of Bengal crossed by the Mahanadi, Devi, Paika, Biluakhai and Hansua, with the Taladanda Canal ending at Paradip. Its eight blocks run from Tirtol and Naugaon inland to Balikuda, Erasama and Kujang on the coast.
Within that small area sits a heavy industrial cluster: Paradip deep-water port, IndianOil’s 15 MMTPA Paradip Refinery, Paradeep Phosphates, an IFFCO fertilizer plant and a 284 sq km PCPIR. In January 2026 the Paradip Port Authority listed a 10 MW solar power plant among the initiatives behind its Green Port goal. Away from the port, paddy, sugarcane, turmeric, cotton, jute and fisheries sustain most households.
Homes in the district are adopting rooftop solar steadily, and Jagatsinghpur ranks third in TPCODL’s area after Khordha and Cuttack. HELLOCON designs rooftop systems for houses in Jagatsinghpur town and Paradip and commercial and industrial systems for businesses across the delta, from our head office in Bhubaneswar.

02Cyclone coast
Rooftop solar for the Erasama, Kujang and Balikuda cyclone coast
The 1999 Super Cyclone came ashore between Puri and Kendrapara with winds of about 260 km/h and a 5-6 m surge, and Jagatsinghpur was the district it hit hardest. The district disaster plan still lists Erasama, Kujang and Balikuda, the three blocks that hold the district’s coastline, as those with the largest cyclone-vulnerable populations.
Rainfall of about 1,500 mm, roughly 80% of it in three monsoon months, and five floods between 2006 and 2018 make water, as well as wind, part of the design brief. A coastal installation therefore needs a firmly anchored GI structure, fixings chosen for salt-laden air, sealed cable entries and a maintenance routine. HELLOCON manufactures its own GI mounting structures and provides operation and maintenance.
Anchored GI structure
Fixed into the roof slab and braced, sized for each roof rather than taken from a standard kit.
Corrosion-aware fixings
Galvanized members and fasteners selected for salt-laden air near the shore.
Sealed electrics
Cable entries, junction boxes and the inverter position protected from wind-driven rain.
03TPCODL connection
Application and metering steps for a TPCODL connection
Check the utility on your electricity bill first; a district name alone does not identify every connection. For a TPCODL household connection, use the national portal together with the utility’s current instructions.
TPCODL serves Jagatsinghpur through its Paradeep Electrical Circle, with the Jagatsinghpur Electrical Division and the Paradeep Electrical Division. Check which of the two your bill names before you register.
- Register the consumer connection on the official PM Surya Ghar portal and follow its application, feasibility and load-related instructions.
- Check the vendor available for that application and agree the equipment, installation and metering responsibilities in writing.
- Complete the required installation records and coordinate the utility’s inspection, meter arrangements and commissioning.
- Retain the commissioning documents and follow the official assistance-claim process. Approval and payment timings depend on the authorities.
