Capacity, eligibility and your final cost
Central assistance is capped at ₹78,000 beyond 3 kW; the published Odisha household assistance is capped at ₹60,000. A larger system does not increase these caps. The state order covers eligible beneficiaries through FY 2026–27. Housing-society common facilities and utility-led arrangements have separate conditions. Previous subsidies, equipment compliance and successful commissioning also affect a claim.

The household application needs a residential electricity connection, suitable roof and the required property rights. The scheme serves Indian residential households; disclose any existing solar installation or previous subsidy during review.
For central assistance, the modules must use domestically produced cells and modules (DCR), and the installation must meet the scheme’s technical requirements. Commercial and industrial consumers use a separate solar assessment.

No. Your bill depends on solar generation, when you consume power, shading, weather, the metering arrangement and applicable charges. A roof and electricity-bill assessment gives a more useful estimate than a blanket savings promise.
Can commercial or industrial buildings claim this household subsidy?
The residential CFA component does not cover commercial, industrial or government consumers. Those sites need a separate solar design and financial assessment.
Can a housing society apply?
GHS/RWA common facilities have a separate capacity-linked assistance schedule and conditions. The individual-household table on this page should not be used to estimate a society’s entitlement.
What if solar panels are already installed?
Tell the team about the existing system and any previous subsidy. Expansion and relocation have specific rules; an existing subsidised installation should not be treated as a new claim for its entire capacity.
